About Mr. Wiegand
I'm a science educator at Weston High School in Weston, Connecticut, teaching Environmental Science and Sustainable Solutions. I believe science is best learned by doing — through hands-on investigation, inquiry, problem solving, and connecting ideas to the real world.
Biography
I'm Chandler Wiegand, a high school science teacher at Weston High School in Weston, Connecticut, where I teach Environmental Science and Sustainable Solutions to eleventh and twelfth grade students. I earned my bachelor's degree in Plant Science from the University of Delaware and completed my master's degree in English Learner/Multilingual Education at Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Summer 2026.
I enjoy helping students connect science to real-world environmental issues while encouraging curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving. I also have a strong interest in educational technology and enjoy finding meaningful ways to integrate digital tools into instruction to enhance student learning.
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my wife and our two daughters, mountain biking, road cycling, hiking, and exploring the outdoors. This website is the online home of my courses — a place for students and families to find course information, expectations, and resources throughout the school year.
